What are your credentials?

NuWell Founder, Kira Khachadoorian is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration. She received her Master of Science and Bachelor of Science Degrees in Nutrition from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly SLO). She also completed over 1,600 hours of supervised practice in dietetics with UC San Diego Medical Center. She holds a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) Credential through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).

What is the difference between a Registered Dietitian and a Nutritionist?

A Registered Dietitian undergoes at least a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition, completes a minimum of 1200 supervised practice hours in an accredited dietetic internship, and passes a national board exam. A "Nutritionist" is an unregulated term, therefore anyone can call themselves one.

Do you accept insurance?

NuWell is now accepting CenCal insurance.


All other sessions will be cash pay, however, a Superbill can be provided upon request, which can be sent to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.
